What is a Mandala
A mandala is a geometric design or pattern that represents the universe, wholeness, and harmony. Rooted in spiritual traditions from Hinduism and Buddhism, mandalas often feature a circular form with intricate, symmetrical patterns radiating from a central point. They are used as tools for meditation, mindfulness, and self-expression, symbolizing balance, unity, and the interconnectedness of life. In art and modern practices, mandalas are often created as a way to foster creativity, focus, and personal reflection.
Medium/Surface: Mixed Media and Collage on Paper
Experience Required: None
As a self-taught artist, Rebecca's work is largely influenced by her shared experience with humans and her love of the natural world. From a young age, life’s subtle nuances and turbulent extremes captivated her. After three decades of working as a social worker and registered nurse, she turned to art for her well-being and fell in love with acrylics, texture and a variety of surfaces. Inspired by the nature’s inviting colors and fanciful creatures, she strives to create pieces that evoke calm and candor transcending the harsh angles of our world. Her creations are easily recognizable because of the whimsical birds and ephemeral landscapes she frequently paints.
