Tincture Making Workshop // October 4th

Learn how to make your own tinctures! Tinctures are made with alcohol and water to extract the medicinal properties of herbs. They are a wonderful and convenient way of taking herbal medicine. In this informative class we will discuss and demonstrate methods to make fresh and dried plant tinctures. We will cover both the maceration & percolation processes. Participants will go home with samples as well as the resources to make their own tinctures at home. This is a demonstration style class.

About the instructor:
Liz Philbrick is a certified clinical herbalist and nutritionist. She graduated with a BA from Colorado College in 2005 and got her start in herbalism in Bozeman Montana apprenticing with Kris Hill of Hill Botanical in 2007. During that time Liz acquired a great deal of medicine making experience and in 2009 she moved to Boulder Colorado to continue her studies at the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. She graduated from the clinical program in 2011 and completed the nutrition program in 2012. Liz worked at Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary & Supply as an herbalist, teacher and producion manager from 2010-2016. After having a baby in August 2016, Liz continues to teach in the greater Boulder area. Liz’s main areas of interest are herbal medicine making, women’s reproductive health and digestive health.
