Your pantry might look more like an apothecary than you think! Culinary herbs and spices, medicinal mushrooms, mineral-rich seaweeds, and common veggies can all be used to create delicious and nutritious broths. During the cold months, these easy-to-digest preparations can offer us an outlet for creativity, a versatile kitchen staple, and a wealth of immune support. This class will explore the basics of making different herbal broths, and the health benefits of the different herbs used. Throw on your apron, and join clinical herbalist and nutritionist Liz Faermark for this class on kitchen herbalism for immune health.
Below is a shopping list of herbs that will be discussed and used during the class with links to purchase so that you can make the recipes at home! Make sure you have at least 1-2 tablespoons of each herb on hand to smell, touch, taste, and inspect during the class. Feel free to stock up on more than that if you want to make some broth after our class!
