Black Copal Resin 1oz Jar
Black Copal, Agathis dammara
The word copal is derived from the Nahuatl word copalli, meaning "incense". The resinous substance is the intermediate stage of polymerization and hardening between "gummier" resins and fossilized amber. It is said to be cleansing and aid in mental and spiritual endeavors. It opens the soul and stimulates creativity and imagination. It has long been used in ancient Maya and Aztec ceremonies for spiritual cleansing and as a ritual offering to the gods. It is still used by a number of indigenous people in southern Mexico and Central America during sacred ceremonies.
