Join us for a deep dive into the world of medicinal herbs! This 6 month herbal immersion program is an opportunity to broaden your knowledge of medicinal herbs and connection to the plant world. Through in person, hands-on learning in the field, kitchen & classroom, we will cover a wide variety of topics including herbal theory, herbal medicine making, botany, materia medica, botanical body care, medicinal mushrooms, aromatherapy, physiology & anatomy, flower essences and more. Through the guidance of local herbalists and experts, students will gain the confidence and knowledge to utilize herbal medicine to support the overall health and vitality of their friends, family and community.

SCHEDULE & DETAILS:
This course is designed to be interactive and hands-on. We will meet every other Wednesday from 4-8 and one Sunday a month from 10-4. Most of the informational and medicine making classes will be held at the Little Herbal Apothecary in Lafayette. The Sunday classes will be held at various locations including local farms, surrounding open spaces or the foothills. We will be taking a summer break in July to accommodate summer travel. Independent study will be provided during this time. Classes & locations and are subject to change.

COST & APPLICATION PROCESS:
The full cost of the course is $2800. This includes 12 evening classes, 5 full Sunday excursions (an optional SJW harvest & medicine making day) plus all materials, tools and products made during classes. Payment plans are available for those who need them. You will need to provide your own travel to and from classes but we will do our best to organize carpooling for the Sunday excursions.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS:
Faith Rodgers
Faith is the founder and lead herbalist at the Little Herbal Apothecary In Lafayette, Colorado. Her journey into herbalism began as a personal exploration of wellness and eventually blossomed into a professional dedication to plant medicine. Faith graduated from the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism in 2008 and has been immersed in the world of herbalism ever since. Through teaching, consulting, formulating and running a busy apothecary, Faith is passionately dedicated to empowering her community to take charge of their health by connecting them with nature.
Liz Philbrick
Liz Philbrick is a clinical herbalist and nutritionist residing in Longmont, Colorado. She graduated from the clinical and nutrition programs at the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. Liz worked as an herbalist and production manager for 7 years at Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary in Boulder Colorado. Liz often finds herself inspired by the natural world and its capacity to nourish and support us. That is why she strives to connect people with medicinal herbs and empower them to take control of their health. She has been facilitating these connections through teaching herbal classes in her community for the past 15 years. In 2021, Liz pursued her other passion–reproductive health–and launched her herbal and nutritional consulting practice, Wild Rose Women's Health, where she supports women in all life stages through herbal, nutritional and lifestyle coaching.
Kat Mackinnon
Kat is a Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild and a certified clinical herbalist and nutritionist from the North American Institute of Medical Herbalism, where she studied under Paul Bergner.
She teaches workshops on herbalism, wild foods, and botany, while also running her clinical practice through Meet the Green. Approaching her work from a Vitalist perspective, Kat believes in the intelligent life force within us all.
For 12 years, she worked at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism in Boulder and Lafayette, CO, where she served as faculty and Clinical Program Director, and is one of the co-creators of Apothecary Academy, an online herbalism program. Originally from the East Coast, she has a passion for bioregional herbalism, especially the herbs and ecology of the Southwest.
Cat Pantelo
Cat holds a Masters degree in Ecopsychology, is a Holistic Practitioner and Wellness Educator with 23 years of professional experience assisting people to achieve optimal physical and emotional health. Masterfully weaving together her skills as an Ecotuner, Certified Herbalist, Nutritionist, Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, and practitioner of Nonviolent Communication, she offers a diverse and invaluable array of offerings designed to facilitate resilience, restoration and deep nourishment for body, mind and spirit. From private consultations, to plant walks, wellness classes and nature immersion experiences, her intention is to empower people to co-create optimal wellness for themselves and their communities, and restore respect and reciprocity between humans and the natural world.
Lauren Ann Nichols-Sheffler
Lauren Ann Nichols-Sheffler attended The Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism and received her certificate in medical herbalism. She is the owner of Blue Yarrow Herbs aka Herbal Vice, an herbal product company practicing bioregional herbalism by cultivating plants and sourcing locally. Lauren loves educating and advocating for plant sustainability. She is the Sourcing & Senior Purchasing manager for WishGarden Herbs.
Tara Lanich-LaBrie
Tara Lanich-LaBrie is an author, culinary herbalist, farmer, forager and cook. She shares her love of deep connection to the plants through the lens of creating seasonal, healing, and magical food.
